Post Bachelors RA - Software Engineer

Job Description

Exciting post-bachelors position at the cutting edge of computational sciences and biological problems with huge potential impact on human health and the environment.

This post-bachelors project will work on software suite for mass spectrometry based proteomics, which identify proteins from biological samples. Two example projects are: synthetic communities for biofuel research, and cancer proteomics. The candidate will help implement new algorithms and methods for protein quantification, in collaboration with the mentors and others in the group. The software will be immediately used by scientist in the lab, and potentially part of a scientific publication.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have received a Bachelor's degree within the past 24 months from an accredited college or university. Minimum overall GPA of 2.5 required. All staff at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory must be able to demonstrate the legal right to work in the United States.

Qualifications

Must have proficiency in software design and execution. Preferred languages: C#, Java, C++. Be able to work in collaborative software environment, with experience in large group projects utilizing code versioning systems (e.g. SVN). Experience in test-driven development paradigm.
